Only a 90 minutes drive from Cape Town, the small coastal town Kleinmond is known as having a very prominent fishing community that was the foundation that the town was built on.

Itinerary

The starting point for the broader Kleinmond Community has recently upgraded and turned into a commercial area with various restaurants and shops near the jetty. It is one of the main tourism attractions for the area and will be where the tour will commence as we share the rich history of the area and the deed monumental value it holds for the locals. Along with some interactive stories by local fishermen and how the make their living and find their love for life being on the sea.

Proteadorp

To know the full story of the fishers and their way of life, we need to visit the area known as Proteadorp in Kleinmond. This is where a lot of the fishers reside and became the residential area for former residents of the Harbour. After the groups act - people of colour were relocated to this area that is still the home to many of them and their children, Learn more about the area, activities in the area and stories of the people that live there.

Cooking with the local

Take the chance to learn how to cook/fry a fish by local fishermen and fisherwoman. Interactive session ofcooking local cuisines of the area.
