What is Jean's Hill

Jean's Hill is situated in Kleinmond near the local golf club, it is one of the favorite hiking spot for the locals. It is home for very prominent species like the indigenous 'Botrivier Protea' and animal species and forms part of the Kogelberg Biosphere and one of UNESCO Heritage Sites.

Highlights

Guided tour of Jean's Hill: Meet your hiking guide at the corner of 15th Avenue and 4th Street at the parking lot that is situated the foot of Jean's Hill. The hike to the top of the hill take about an hour and a half, with information sharing about fauna and flora found in the area and enough time to enjoy the view along the way.

After reaching the top, you can enjoy watching the sunrise with a light snack and some coffee/tea. Sunset tour includes tea/ hot chocolate and light snack. NB: Sunset hike includes torches for hike down the hill.

Important Information

Minimum age

8 years, accompanied by an adult (over 18 years)

Fitness and experience level

Fair level of fitness; no health issues or pre-existing medical conditions that may be a problem with physical exertion. No mountain climbing experience is required but must be physically able to walk for up to 2 hours and climb up a rocky path.
